For me, one of the most rewarding elements of painting has been the pursuit of my realistic portraiture. I am often commissioned to paint portraits of people, their families, and their pets. I have painted couples —and even animals — as king and queen; sometimes people have very specific cities or backgrounds that they want to be represented behind them.

When possible, I like to paint portraits from life, with my subjects doing sittings in my studio (although most dogs and cats can't be convinced to sit still for hours while I paint them). I work from photograghs as well, which I take during the sitting. My portraits are all painted in oil on wood or canvas; prices start at $800.
